Socks into Scarf

What is this picture you ask?  Its my basket that I keep all of our mismatch socks in.  Yes, I see its full, but I'm always hoping that their soul mate may show up. But reality is setting in, and I thought, "what can I do with all these socks?"  Most of them are kids socks, which means cute patterns and colors.  So my dusty brains says,  "A scarf seems like the logical size and item to use these on!"  By the way, my brain doesn't actually speak, I just want to make that clear so you won't worry or think I'm a nut-job.  Or, if it eases your mind, I'll just go ahead and admit; "yep, I'm weird."

I picked out socks that somewhat match.  Then I also pulled a pair of girls tights out to really tie them all together. I then cut out the toe area, and then the heal; I'm just wanting the flat area in the middle of the sock.
For the tights, I cut out similar size all the way up the leg.  I laid out the sequence that I'm going to stitch these together in.

Then, its time to start stitching together.  I just tuck the top into the bottom of the previous sock, and stitch together using a zigzag stitch.  It would also be cute to use ribbon or zigzag here, but I don't have any on hand, and I'm going for simplicity.  On the ends, I just use one piece folded back to make the end look tidy.

My five year old daughter says that its "so cool" and "she's wearing it to school tomorrow!"  Great!I hope the weather cooperates for her!
